Nita Kay Wilson, 69 years old, born August 21, 1956 of Kalkaska, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 8th, 2026 in her home. Kay was born in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Millard & Wanda (Stewart) Pender. She often told stories of her childhood and how deeply loved she was by her parents. Kay loved her parents and her brothers, Michael & John deeply and always held them close to her heart. Kay loved the Lord with all of her heart. Her deepest desire was for those she loved to know Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior and to live for Him. Her goal was to always be a good testimony. No matter what she was going through, the first thing on her mind was to be a good example of trusting in the Lord and showing gratitude to Him. Kay was the most grateful woman. Those who knew her well would often, if not daily, hear her thank the Lord for whatever the day brought, whether good or bad. Even in her dear husband's final days, she could be heard saying “Thank you, Lord” as she kissed his forehead and held his hand. She was the most beautiful example of heartfelt gratitude. Next to Jesus, her greatest joy was found in the love of her life, her husband of almost 50 years and her children and grandchildren. She loved her family so deeply. If you had the honor of knowing her, you knew how she felt about her family. Each of her children and grandchildren knew they were her favorite. She had a way of making us believe it was our little secret. Kay was such a funny, witty and joyful woman. No matter how she felt or what she was going through, she wanted to make you laugh. There are so many wild and wonderful things about her personality and what she brought into each of our lives. She loved to cook and bake and found so much joy in sharing her amazing food with her family and friends. Those who knew her, and those who just saw her in the grocery store, were impacted in some way by her beautiful smile, her witty and hilarious made up words and her contagious laughter. She is so deeply loved and will be so deeply missed. Surviving Kay are her children, Michael John Charles Wilson, Melissa Anne Elizabeth (Jason) Faulk and Matthew Joseph Douglas (Eva) Wilson; grandchildren, Angel Aranda, Jade Aranda, Austin Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Liliana Fowlkes, Zoey Fowlkes, Jacob Faulk, Hannah Faulk, Maria (Brandon) George, Nuno (Emily) Casas, Jeshua Ehl, Mariah Wilson, Keighann Wilson, Logan Wilson; great-grandchildren, Vanessa Faulk, Maverick Faulk, Jayden Durga, Isaiah Durga, Serenity Casas, Killian George, Audrey Casas, Gracie Casas, and Allison Casas; and her brother, Michael (Pat) Pender. Preceding Kay in death is her husband, Charles Frank Wilson and her parents; siblings, John Pender and Jo Anne Pender. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Kalkaska on Sunday, January 18th. The service will begin at 1:00 PM.
