Victor "Vic" Turnipseed

November 8, 1948 - July 4, 2019

Victor Turnipseed, 70, of Kalkaska passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on July 4, 2019. Vic was born November 8, 1948 in Kalkaska to the late Alfred and Vivan (Larabee) Turnipseed. Vic served in the 538th Land Clearing Division of the Army in Vietnam and returned home to have a lifelong career in the oilfield industry. Vic is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Joan (Kies) Turnipseed; his children, Jenny (Fred) Harrison, Mary (Greg) Stilson, Ann (Troy) Jenkins; his grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas, Jeremy, Nicole, Kristin, Matthew, and Daniel; and his sister Jeanne (Glen) Catt. Vic was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Vivian (Larabee) Turnipseed; his brothers Alfred and Chris Turnipseed; and his infant twin sons David and Daniel. Vic’s greatest joy was his family and the time he spent with them. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and being in the outdoors. Vic was a Jack of all trades and willingly shared his knowledge and talents. After all Vic had accomplished in his life, at the end, the only thing that mattered is what Jesus had done for him. A visitation will be held to honor Vic and the life he lived Tuesday, July 9, at 12:00 PM with a service at 1:00 PM at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home.
