Thomas J. Preston, 72, of Kalkaska passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born on January 7, 1949 in Dearborn, the son of the late Dominic and Nano (Ross) Preston. Tom served honorably in the US Marines was a recipient of a Purple Heart. He married Katherine A. Harrington, October 20, 2010, in Kalkaska, Michigan. Tom was a family-oriented man who loved his grandkids and a Sunday afternoon football game. Tom was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, VFW. Surviving Tom are his children, Nathan (Michelle) Barber of Grawn and Rachel Barber of Traverse City; grandchildren, Paige Blake, Adam Blake, Quinton Barber, Jesse Otto; and his brother, Michael Preston. Proceeding Tom in passing was his wife, Katherine; his brothers, Dominic Preston and Robert Preston. Cremation has taken place per Tom’s wishes. There will be a memorial service in the spring.
