Seth Michael Chopp, of Kalkaska, lost his life unexpectedly on March 6, 2018 at the age of 16 in a tragic accident in Kalkaska County. He was born on August 22, 2001 in Warren, MI to Eric and Lisa (Garnett) Chopp. Seth attended Kalkaska High School, where he was a part of the Cross-Country team. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when he got the chance. He loved his family first and foremost, and had many dreams and goals which he would have excelled in with no doubt. Seth was a sophomore at Kalkaska High School and was a member of the cross-country team, where he earned his varsity letter. He really enjoyed being a part of the team, where they soon became his extended family. Seth also had a very special bond and looked up to his teacher, Mr. Dalton. Seth made it very clear and was very proud that he intended to join the United States Military Service after graduating high school. Seth will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Seth is survived by his parents; Eric (Lisa) Chopp; siblings; Makyla Chopp of East Lansing, and Ein Chopp of Kalkaska; paternal great grandmother, Nelle Knoche; paternal grandparents Tom and Penny Chopp; maternal grandparents, Edward and Karen Garnett; Aunt Robyn (Dave) Phillps, Aunt (Teri) Jim Todero, Uncle Daren (Crystal) Garnett, Aunt Jenni (Jim) Vosburgh, Aunt Jessica Garnett; his special friend Tori Weiling; and many cousins and dear friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 10, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Kalkaska Church of Christ, 1725 W. Kalkkaska Rd., Kalkaska, MI with a visitation starting one hour prior to service, where visitors may gather to share stories of Seth.
