Patricia Lee Johnson

Patricia Lee Johnson (Barber) went home to the Lord on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, She was born in Rapid City, Michigan on September 30th, 1935 to Russell and Sarah Ione Barber. She was a woman of many talents which included sewing, crafting, dancing, cooking, and a tremendous wit and sense of humor. She married the love of her life, Huse Johnson on New Year’s Eve, 1978. Though her memory faded in the twilight of her years, we all would revel in the special moments when she would recall past events, family, and friends. Pat is survived by her husband, Huse Johnson, her daughters, Sheryl (Barry) Swainston and Tamela Norwood, and her son, Christopher (Lorie) Mercer, her sisters Phyllis (Sylvester) Day, and Erva Gene Mercer and her brother, Lawrence Barber. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two infant sons, Richard and Ronald Mercer, her parents, sister-in-law, Phyllis Barber and brother-in-law, Arden Mercer. Services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022, at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, 106 S. Cherry Street in Kalkaska, MI 49646. Visitation is from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed immediately by the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Cherryland Humane Society, 1750 Ahlberg Road, Traverse City, MI 49696.
