Margery “Marge” Geohegan, 92, passed away at her apartment in Williamsburg on September 17, 2018. She was born Dec. 16, 1925 in Dayton, Ohio to the late C. Lamont and Edith Fisher. At the University of Miami-Ohio, Marge studied art and later worked as a commercial artist and developed a love for painting. On Sep. 4, 1948 Marge married Kenneth P. Geohegan in Dayton. Together they raised two wonderful sons in Baltimore, Maryland, where Marge participated in scouting and the local civic association. Marge and Ken vacationed each summer at the family cottage in Alden, where they moved to live full-time in 1996. There, Marge enjoyed quilting with the Torch Area Artisans Guild (TAAG). In 2011, Marge moved to Hope Village in Williamsburg, where she was devoted to quilting for the relief group “Stitches of Kindness”. Her dedication to friends, family, and community will be deeply missed. Marge is survived by her loving sons, John (Susan) Geohegan of Longmont, Colo., and David (Marian) Geohegan of Knoxville, Tenn.; her grandson Derek Hevel; and her loving friends at Samaritas in Williamsburg. A Celebration of Life memorial service will take place on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Samaritas Senior Living Chapel, 4354 Mount Hope Road, Williamsburg, MI 49690. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible contributions may be given in Marge’s memory to Stitches of Kindness, a local community organization that makes and donates quilts for use by local fire rescue and ambulance crews, will provide the supplies for Marge’s friends to continue making quilts in support of a cause that was dear to Marge’s heart.
