Elsie Mae Winner, age 85, passed away at her home in Kalkaska on Monday, January 14, 2013. She was born on November 8, 1927 in Wayne County, TN to the late Joseph A. and Mary Lou (Hale) Throop.Elsie married Gordon G. Winner on July 13, 1949 in Detroit. They moved to Kalkaska from Berkley, MI in 1997. Elsie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her.Elsie is survived by her loving children, Joyce Ann Horne of Kalkaska and Joseph Andrew Winner of Garden City; her cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey (Suzanne) Winner of Iowa, Michelle Renee (Robert) Potter of Holly, Tara Elizabeth (Jeremiah) Sperry of Traverse City, Mallory Winner of Livonia, and LeAnn Winner of Livoinia; and 8 precious great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and her dear husband Gordon.Visitation for Elsie will be held on Friday from 11:00-3:00 p.m. at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Excelsior Township Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, P.O. 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.Arrangements were made by Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home, our family serving yours.
