    Dorothy Jean Goldsberry

    October 7, 1925 - November 24, 2021

    Dorothy Jean (Miller) Goldsberry passed away at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City, Michigan on November 24, 2021, at the age of 96. Dorothy was born on October 7, 1925, in Adrian, Michigan to Elmer and Opal (Doyle) Miller. She attended Adrian Public Schools. She drove school bus for Tecumseh Public Schools, but the majority of her working career was spent as a nursing assistant at Herrick Manor. She also did home nursing care for people in the community. Dorothy was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of the Herrick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was past president of the Auxiliary and volunteered close to 15,000 hours from the time of her retirement until the age of 90. When her children were younger, she was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and treasurer of the Tecumseh Band Boosters. Dorothy loved doing crafts, traveling, crocheting, cooking, eating out and cheering for the Detroit Tigers. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember her for her cookies, which she always took to them when she visited. Dorothy is survived by her two children: Doug (Kathy) Goldsberry of Fife Lake, Michigan, and Deborah (Joseph) Conklin of Traverse City, Michigan; grandchildren: Michael Goldsberry of Madison, Wisconsin; Michele Goldsberry of Knoxville, Tennessee; Heather (Kenneth) Krajewski of East Grand Rapids, Michigan; Matthew (Sarah) Conklin of St. Joseph, Michigan. Great Grandchildren: Sarah, Wyatt, Cora and Leah Goldsberry; Audrey and Joseph Krajewski; Caroline and Patrick Conklin. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Gordon Duane, two brothers (Meryl Miller and Kenneth Miller), one sister (Maxine Jersey) and former husband Gordon Goldsberry. Cremation has taken place per her request and there will be a memorial service in the spring at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with burial at Brookside Cemetery. Cremation arrangements provided by Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, our family serving yours.
