Dorothy Christine Barron, 80, of Kalkaska, passed away on January 1, 2018 at her home. She was born on December 6, 1937 to the late Louie Madsen and Phyllis Dorian Reed in Reading, PA. Dorothy was a fan of true crime shows where she would try and solve the cases right along with the experts on Forensic Files. She enjoyed word searches and could crochet beautiful afghan blankets. Dorothy was proud to be a homemaker and loved spending time gambling and playing bingo. She is survived by her children, Kim (Marc Celeste) Wildman, Angela Vissers, Joyce Ann (Kenneth) Golden, Mark (Sheral) Barron, Kevin (Julie Meyer) Barron, Lori (Scott) Hewitt, and Kelly (Robbie) Morris; daughter-in-law Diane Wildman; two brothers and one sister; 24 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Gene Barron; her son Scott Wildman;a very special son-in-law Gary Vissers; and her brother Thomas Madsen. A memorial service will be held on February 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Gene. A special thank you to all caregivers from Kalkaska Memorial Health Center and workers from hospice that help families through this difficult time.
