Dave Browning, 60, of Fife Lake, MI passed away on December 30, 2021. And contrary to what most of us predicted he didn’t ornery himself to death. (It’s okay to laugh at that, he would have) He did however go peacefully in his sleep, next to his wife of 25 years (Audrey Browning), in the home they built together. He was able to go on his terms, which as anyone who knew him, is how he lived his life. Dave was born your stereotypical farm boy to Roy and Dorothy Browning in Eaton Rapids, MI. Throughout his childhood his grandfather and father helped build, drive, and influence traditions and passions that he carried with him his entire life. He then took those passions and built a foundation that he passed on to many of those around him. The influence that his grandfather and parents had on him can still be found woven into his relationships with his children and grandchildren. So much of what made up Dave can still be found in those whose lives he touched. You see him in the glitter of his grandson’s eyes when he hears the rumble of a well-tuned engine. You hear him in the giggle of his granddaughters get when they ask someone to go a little bit faster on their rides. You see him in the hands of a daughter who he taught with a little determination & a whole lotta duct tape you can fix just about anything. You hear him in the multitude of voices that you will hear softly singing a southern gospel tune that he sang to them a hundred times. You feel him in his sons heart every time is starts racing over a deer walking in front of his deer stand or when he has a big bass on the line. You see him in the eyes of his daughters, who may never look at the world the same way again but will never stop looking for opportunities to be a version of themselves that would make him proud. But if you truly want to see him, you should see him thru the eyes of his wife. Who through 25 years of ups and downs - never stopped seeing the best version of the man she knew was at his core. You will see him in her tears as she mourns and deals with the hole left in her heart and in her smile as she remembers the life they built together. So yes, Dave Browning, 60, of Fife Lake, MI passed on December 30,2021 but the real point is that he lived. That his legacy will never fade. And that a little piece of him will be with us all.
