Clifford Leon Boothman

August 1, 1933 - December 14, 2018

Clifford L. Boothman, 85, passed away December 14, 2018, at the Eden Center of Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. His loved ones were at his side. He was born August 1, 1933, to the late Joseph and Thelma (Beach) Boothman. Cliff was a very active man and an excellent athlete in his younger years. He played many sports including baseball, football, golf and bowling. He proudly remembered playing baseball with Willie Mays and was a top pro-football prospect before being drafted to serve in the Korean conflict. Cliff was fond of remembering his work on the construction of the Mackinaw Bridge, his years at Bear Archery, and his years as a welder with N.L. Industries. He was a member of Iron Workers Local 25 and the Kalkaska VFW. Cliff is survived by his son Joseph (Melanie) Boothman and his partner Bonnie Campbell all of Kalkaska. He is also survived by a brother in-law Robert Hoegter and a sister in-law Fran Boothman of Springhill, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, and his siblings Raymond Boothman and Joan Hoegter. Clifford has been cremated according to his wishes and will be interred in Excelsior Township Cemetery at a later date. Psalms 37:29, "The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever."
