Ursula (Hunter) Armstrong, 87, of Kalkaska passed away on May 30, 2017 at the Eden Center with family by her side. Ursula was born in Germany on September 6th, 1929 to the late Hugo and Bertha Grosse. She moved to Lincoln Park, Michigan in 1949, where she became an American citizen. It is there she married the late Henry Ritthaler and raised their family. She was a devoted mother and active member of her church. She moved to Kalkaska in 1968 with her late husband Zara Hunter, Jr. where they owned and operated the Northland Restaurant, along with other business ventures. Ursula was well known for being a very hard worker and a great cook. She would show off her culinary skills by having numerous dinner parties in her home and fed everyone at the fanciest table you have ever seen. She was an amazing friend and took great pleasure in having company. In the year 2000, Ursula and her late husband Walter Armstrong began spending their winters in Florida. They also enjoyed taking trips to Germany to visit her family. She enjoyed meeting new people and she made friends everywhere she went. Ursula loved all that she met and was loved by all that met her. She continued wintering in Florida these past five years with her current husband, companion & friend, Andrew Turner. She loved listening to him play music when they gathered with their friends. Together, they enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends, having meals at the Kalkaska Senior Center and being with family. Ursula was preceded in death by her parents, thirteen brothers and sisters, and her four beloved children: Harold, Nancy, Kathy and Julie Ritthaler. She is survived in death by many extended family and friends, including her husband Andrew Turner, her son Gary (Patti) Ritthaler, her daughter Mary (Todd) Rathke, Stepson Tom (Cindy) Adkins, Stepdaughter Connie (Jerry) Day, her 7 grandchildren: Joshua Ritthaler, Aaron (Melissa) Ritthaler, Brandon Frohs, Matthew Young II, Faith Young, Wesley Rathke and Claudia Rathke. She was a remarkable woman and will be missed by all that knew her. Ursula loved her friends, family and most importantly the Lord Jesus Christ and looked forward to Heaven. There she plans to see her many loved ones once again. She hopes you will join her there too. You will most likely find her in the kitchen helping prepare grand meals, just like she loved to do here on earth. Ursula has chose to be cremated and will have a Visitation for Family and Friends at Wolfe - O'Neill Funeral Home on Friday, June 16th, 5 p.m - 9 p.m. A memorial service, followed by a luncheon will be on Saturday, June 17th at 11:00 at St Paul Lutheran Church of Kalkaska.Arrangements were made by Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, our family serving yours.
