A life lived boldly, with heavy hearts and profound respect, we honor the extraordinary life of Steven Edward Sizemore—a man whose presence filled every room, whose laughter lit up every space, and whose spirit left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know him. Born in 1955, Steven didn’t just live, roared through life with purpose, wit, and fire. A natural-born leader with a heart as big as his dreams, Steven lived by a simple code: work hard, love harder, and never, ever take a single moment for granted. Steven was a master of many things—a devoted father, a fiercely loyal friend, a loving partner, and a mentor to many. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind or stand up for what he believed in, and he always fought for the people he loved. His words carried weight, but it was his actions that spoke the loudest. He gave without expectation, showed up when it mattered most, and made people feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether it was fixing what was broken, offering wisdom with a sly grin, or cooking up the perfect meal for family and friends, Steven’s hands were never idle and his heart never cold. His humor was sharp, his soul was generous, and his strength—both physical and emotional—was unmatched. Steven was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rita and Jake Sizemore, and his brothers, Ronald Sizemore, Carl Sizemore, and Dale Sizemore. He is survived by his children: Dawn Sizemore (and Gene Anger), Amanda Johnson (and husband James Johnson), Carrie Sizemore (and Jamie Horton), Phillip Sizemore (and wife Kathy Sizemore), Nathan Sizemore. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Paul (Angelica) Johnson, with their children Athena and Elijah), Shaiyna Sizemore (with Tristen and Jayyden), Seth Hauser, Bethany, Cora (and Levi Jenkins), Ariell (and Kota McClellan), Aurora Sizemore (and Ravin and Quincy), Freyah Sizemore. He also leaves behind his siblings:Bob (Sharon) Sizemore, Ethel Sizemore (Root) , Grace Sizemore (Curry), and Dennis Sizemore. Above all, Steven leaves behind his life partner of 30 years, Rick Frye—the love of his life, his rock, his forever. Their love was amazing, the kind of love that novels try to capture and songs dream of. It was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love; the kind you wish you could have. Steven and Rick were made for each other, and their bond was unshakable—rooted in trust, laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion. Through every high and every hardship, they stood side by side, and their love lit the path forward. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, compassion, and grit. His love will echo in every joke told at the dinner table, in every hard-earned victory celebrated by those he inspired, and in the quiet strength he instilled in his family. Steven Edward Sizemore’s story isn’t over—it lives on in every life he touched. Though we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life lived without regret, full of thunder, fire, and love. Rest easy, Steven. You did more than live—you loved, you inspired, and you left the world brighter than you found it.
