Nancee Marie Monsees, age 82 of Kalkaska, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Nancee was born on July 30, 1941, in Kalkaska, Michigan. She graced the world as the first girl born into her family in 80 years. The cherished daughter of Melvin and Zelma Clark, sister to her late brother, Tom Clark, surviving by her loving brother Philo Clark. For 63 wonderful years, Nancee was married to her best friend, Roy Monsees. Throughout their life together, Nancee and Roy shared a deep and lasting love that was the center of their story. When asked about the key to a long-lasting marriage, Nancee simply said, “love.” And boy did they love each other. Their love deepened, becoming more beautiful and stronger with each passing year. Nothing brought them more joy than spending time together; whether it was traveling, visiting friends and family, or simply watching the Wheel of Fortune, it didn’t matter as long as they did it together. The enduring love they shared leaves a lasting impression on the hearts of those who had the privilege to witness the beauty of their love story. Together, they created a legacy that extends through their four children: Mollie Hindy (Gerard Hindy), John Monsees, Annie Gates (Gordon Shell), and Kellie Bahri (Jeff Bahri). Nancee’s unconditional love and warmth wrapped around her 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart. Nancee exemplified an unwavering love for the Lord that touched every part of her life. She was committed to reading the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, each year. It was a meaningful time for her, seeking wisdom and deepening her faith and love for Jesus. You could see Nancee’s love for the Lord in how she treated others-with kindness, compassion in times of need, and a graceful approach to life’s challenges. She was like a shining light, spreading her love for the Lord to everyone she met. Whether through encouraging words and prayers, acts of kindness, or just her warm and comforting presence, Nance truly embodied the teachings of Jesus. Nancee not only blessed the lives of her family and friends but also made meaningful contributions to the world through her dedicated work. In her role in Human Resources at K-Mart, she brought her warmth and understanding to the workplace, making a positive impact on those around her. As the office manager at the Saginaw Rescue Mission, Nancee demonstrated her compassionate nature by supporting individuals in need, embodying the spirit of empathy and love. During her tenure as a Counselor at Bear Lake Christian Church she further showed her commitment to helping others navigate challenges with grace and understanding. Nancee’s career path reflects her sincere passion to make a positive impact in the lives of those she served. Above all, Nancee considered her most significant role to be the devoted and loving mother to her four children. In celebrating the life of Nancee Marie Monsees, let us embrace the enduring legacy of love, compassion, and faith she leaves behind. May we forever cherish the memories of her warmth, the echoes of her laughter, and the strength she embodied, honoring a life well-lived.
