Lori L. GarstDied Sept. 12, 2015TRAVERSE CITY – Lori Lou Garst, 61, of Traverse City, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City surrounded by her loving family. She was born Lori Lou Irish on December 5, 1953 in Traverse City.Lori married her “Knight in Shining Armor” Cameron Garst and became a mother to Megan Garst when she was just a little girl and a loving Grandmother to Megan’s son Greyson who called her “LaLa”. Lori was proud of her career as the Administrative Services Director at the Grand Traverse Pavilions, where she retired from, on September 8, 2015 after 28 years of service.She was a very private person who loved her family and dogs with an intense passion. She enjoyed horses, boating, doing yard work on the tractor, and watching HGTV home renovations shows. She was always cleaning and took good care of everything and everyone in her life.Surviving Lori are her husband Cameron Garst, daughter Megan (Johnny) Barlow, grandson Greyson Barlow, father-in-law Roger Garst, siblings Gary (Karen) Irish, Randy Irish, Connie (Mark) Drake, Leslie Irish, and Laurie Irish; sister-in-law Tracy (Charlie) Flanders, her nieces and nephews, Matthew Irish, Carrie Irish, Lisa (Ryan) Groleau, Joe (Catie) Rokos, Jessi (Brandon) Weir, Austin Bannister, Morgan Bannister, Timothy (Whitney) Flanders ; Rebecca (Darrin) Tape, great- nieces and nephews, William, Nichole, Sawyer, Catilyn, Piper, and Julia; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. All of her family is from Traverse City.Proceeding Lori in death are her parents, Lester Irish, Barbara (Art) Kendall, and mother-in law Mary Anne Garst.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at CenterPointe located directly on West Grand Traverse Bay. There is additional parking on the West side of M-22. Use the tunnel access under the highway. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Munson Hospice House in Lori’s memory, 1105 Sixth St., Traverse City, MI 49684.Arrangements were made by Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home, our family serving yours.
