Kristina Lee Cherette-Moran, 26, of Gaylord, passed away at Munson Medical Center on October 21, 2018. She was born on June 26, 1992 in Kalamazoo, to Mark Wiest and Karna Cherette. Goodbye’s are tough to say, but we did not expect it to be so quick for our beloved Kristina. On October 21st, 2018 at 2:12 a.m. Kristina unexpectedly gained her beautiful angel wings. Kristina was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy type 2 when she was just over a year old. Her life expectancy was two short years, but she was a fighter! Kristina made a huge impact on many lives and touched many hearts in the 26 years we were blessed with her presence. She will be remembered by many amazing qualities, such as her bravery, charisma, amazing sense of fashion, and love for makeup, ability to be a strong loving mother to her baby Rex Leo Moran and pets, and her beautiful heart. Her exuberant personality and love for trails edge camp was something to be admired, and her kindness towards others was purely genuine. Kristina will be kept and alive and remembered by continuing to spread her wisdom and passion for every person to stand up and let their voice be heard. This is not goodbye, this is we will see you later. She is survived by her parents, Mark (Courtney) Wiest and Karna (Matt Tapley) Cherette; husband, Ben Moran; siblings, Amy E. Storms, Krystal R. Cherette, Conner N. Birmingham, Preslea M. Abbey; grandparents, Sandra Powers, Vern Cherette, Alvin Krumlauf, Ron (Karen) Wendell, John Wiest; nieces, Gabriella, Mackenzie; aunts and uncles, John, Chris, Mike, Wendy, Rachelle, Theresa, Steve and Karen, Jamie and Bonnie, Mark and Kristin, Amy and Brian, Mike and Carrie; and best friend, Taylor Williams. Kristina is preceded in death by her baby, Rex Moran A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation starting one hour prior to service at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home, 106 S. Cherry St. Kalkaska, MI 49646. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Kristina’s name to Trail’s Edge Camp, C/O Mott Respiratory Care 8-714, 1540 E.
