On Friday June 23, 2023, our beloved Franices “Fran” Ann Elkins,70, of Kalkaska went to join her family in heaven. Loving, compassionate, caring, kind, hardworking and loyal are just a few words that describe Fran. You couldn’t help but smile when seeing her, from her gentle smile to the love that radiated off of her. No matter what mood someone was in, she could always, make you smile and laugh from her funny but quick comebacks. Fran loved nothing more than her family. Fran was born to Henry Jr. (Buck) and Joyce Tracey. Fran was also blessed to be the second oldest of six siblings. She loved talking and sharing stories about her siblings, Loretta Tracey, Vernon (Maggie) Tracey, Connie (John) Turnbull, Danny (Valerie) Tracey, Sammy (Shirley) Tracey, and David (Sue) Tracey. Fran gave life to four beautiful children, Randy Elkins (Linsey Rowell), Keith Elkins, Angle Elkins, and Fabian Pluszczynski (Jacoba Westmoreland). Fran loved spending time with her grandchildren, Eden Elkins, Brittany Elkins (Dakota Grimes), Stormi Elkins, Natosha Elkins (Zhane Rierson), Tegan Elkins, Sage Elkins, Trent Sizemore, Kloie Pluszczynski, Gavin Sizemore (Naomi Chingman). Fran was also, blessed with great grandchildren, Waylon Grimes, Hudson Grimes, Winston Sizemore, and Braxtyn Sizemore. Fran was preceded in death by her parents Henry Jr. (Buck) and Joyce Tracey, her siblings Loretta Tracey, and Vernon (Maggie) Tracey, her granddaughter Stormi Elkins, and other loving family members. Fran loved a lot of things but some of her favorite things were lilac’s, the color lavender, watching soap operas, drinking coffee, doing puzzles, coloring and sitting down to have dinner with her family. She also loved collecting things and had a beautiful collection of porcelain dolls and beanie babies. Fran gave love, life and joy to this world and to the people around her. Her gentle soul healed others' souls. Her love and happiness will continue on in our hearts and memories. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Evergreen Bible Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor William Kuiper officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at church. Burial will follow in Lodi Cemetery.
