Derrell “Snooks” Wane Eldridge, of Kalkaska, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Eden Center in Kalkaska. Born on September 12, 1935 in South Bend, TX, the son of the late Joseph and Eula Mae (Duncan) Eldridge. Until they meet again in heaven, Derrell leaves his loving wife and soulmate of 48 years, Wanda Eldridge.Derrell had a lifetime career of over 60 years in the Oil and Gas Industry working in Texas, North Dakota and Michigan. He was the owner of Dar-Way Inc. and D & W Flow Testing, Inc. In 2013, he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his service in the Oil and Gas Industry in Michigan. Derrell was also the co-owner and co-founder of Grandview Golf Course and Restaurant in Kalkaska. He loved to play golf and made a hole-in-one on #7 at Grandview.Derrell was a life member of 50 years of the Elks Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Minot, North Dakota for 45 years.Derrell is survived by many family and friends; his wife, Wanda; children, Jerrell (Heather) Eldridge of Tucson, AZ, Dara Odom of Las Cruces, NM, Cheryl Martinez of Lumberton, TX, Scott (Lilly) Eldridge of Tucson, AZ and Dwane (Tracy) Eldridge of Kalkaska; step-daughters, Gwen (Jim) Smith of Hawley, TX and Kayla Copeland of Sioux Falls, SD; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Glenda (Keith) Lindon of Hallett, OK and special nephew, Benny Eldridge of Graham, TX.A special thank you to all at Eden Center and Heartland Hospice for their care, love and support.Derrell was proceeded in death by his siblings, W. B. Eldridge, Rita Carnes, Glen Eldridge, Dortha Nell Melton, Josephine Kast, and Wanda Minton all of Texas.Visitation will be on Thursday, May 11th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home.
