Cecil Edward Peck

Cecil Edward Peck, 103, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025. He was born on February 8, 1922, in Traverse City, Michigan to the late Charles and Mildred (St. John) Peck. He was honorably discharged from the U.S Army in December of 1943. He served our country in World War II. Cecil was one of the oldest Veterans here in Kalkaska County. Cecil had just celebrated his 103rd birthday and received over 400 cards from people all over the United States and Canada. Cecil married Martha E. Hinds on October 1, 1942, she preceded him in passing on June 24, 2006. They were married 64 years before her passing. Cecil loved his children and made sure he took time to show them he cared. He enjoyed Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter dinners, and picnics with all the family. He was a gardener and enjoyed making lawn ornaments. The family has a little farm of cows and horses. Cecil loved to tell stories that made all of us laugh. Cecil is survived by his loving children Sharon (Keith) Ingersoll of Fife Lake, Gloria (Ken) Borgen, and Jerry (Sarah) Peck; grandchildren Dawn (Marvin) Smith, Amy (Dereck) Hanson, Lisa (Doug) Abramczyk, Amanda Borgen, Eric Borgen, Bryan Peck, Dennis Peck, Rita Jaseph, and Adam Hanson; great grandchildren Dylan (Antonia) Nolff, Destiny Nolff, Daulton Hanson, Crystal (John) King, Dusty Abramczyk, Tella Hanson, A.J. Hanson, Ethen Hanson, Jessica (Eddie) Gabrielsen, Bobby (Amber) Jaseph, Joshua Jaseph, and Jacob Jaseph, and great-great grandchildren Olyver Nolff, Elias Nolff, Lucas Nolff, Asher Baughman, Archer Baughman, Jazyln Nolff, Sophia Gabrielsen, and one on the way; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by son, Bernard Peck; grandchildren Troy Ingersoll, Jerry Lee Peck, and Jennifer Peck; great-great grandchild Sadie Abramczyk; siblings Duard Peck, Luecille (William) Nelson, Irene (Ray) Wilson, Dorothy (Harry) Korn, and Gladys (Floyd) Kevwitch; several stepsisters and brothers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Kimberland Hough and Pastor William Kuiper will be officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kalkaska Commission on Aging, Make-A-Wish Foundation or Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan c/o Transportation Fund.
