Brenda Lee Lacy

Brenda left her earthly life behind on August 12, 2026, for something far greater than hearts can imagine. She was ushered into Heaven, into the loving arms of Jesus, where she will wait for her family and friends to join her. She was a Charter Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #6579 in New Lothrop, MI. She was a long time member of Bear Lake Christian Church, where she served in various roles throughout the years. Her favorite role within the church was singing with the praise team. She was an avid gardener, who had the greenest of green thumbs. She could make anything grow. Some of her happiest times were made up of simply sitting in her flower garden, enjoying the peace and tranquility that it brought her. She was a fabulous cook, who wasn’t afraid to try something new. Though she owned cookbooks, she didn’t need a recipe to follow to keep her family and friends fed. She had the innate ability to throw together lavish meals, simply by knowing what things to pair together. Brenda was the most loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and especially grandmother. Her grandsons were her biggest joy. Those closest left behind to cherish her memory are husband Allen Lacy; daughters Billie Lee (Marvin) Wrubel, Tracy (Michael) James; sons Dan (April) Lacy, Jeremy Lacy; grandsons Taylor (Andrea Alband) James, Clyde Davis, Andrew Jacobs, Kelvin Jacobs, Dalton James, Grady Lacy & Brody Lacy; siblings Sandra Choate and William (Susan) Schlink, along with her nieces, nephews and countless others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Sarah (Simon) Schlink, brother-in-law, Tom and son, Tony. A celebration of the beautiful and adventurous life of Brenda will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Bear Lake Christian Church, in Kalkaska, MI. Pastor Scott Hoffer will officiate the celebration. The family will accept visitors that day from 11:00 am until the time of celebration at 1pm. In true Brenda fashion, feel free to wear something bright and colorful! The family would like to express their utmost gratitude for the care she was given by the very loving staff that became family, at both Munson Medical Center of Traverse City (D5) and the Kalkaska Infusion Clinic. Arrangements were made by Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, our family serving yours.
