Barbara Jean (Barbie) Kloepfer, 61, of South Boardman, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019. Born December 28, 1957 in Lansing, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Alvin and Ila Mae (Ogden) Syers of Williamston. She married Jeffrey Kloepfer on June 1, 1985 in Kalkaska. Barbie attended High School in Williamston and moved to Kalkaska County in 1984. She worked several years as a dietary aid at Williamsburg Recovery Center, and Kalkaska Memorial Hospital, she also worked as a laundry attendant at Shanty Creek Resort. Barbie spent over a decade on the Boardman Township Fire Department achieving the rank of Captain. Barbie enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, gardening, bird watching, mushroom hunting, taking care of her animals, and spending time with her family. Her favorite place to visit was the Upper Peninsula. Surviving is her husband, Jeffrey; children, Adele Kloepfer of South Boardman, Jeffrey Kloepfer II of South Boardman, Jennifer (Oliver) Graham of North Little Rock AR, James (Heather) Kloepfer of Albion, and Heather Henninger of Rapid City; 12 grandchildren, Eli, Savage, Christopher, Jordan, Emily, Katie, Sean, Reannin, Heidi, Hailey, Rebecca, and Aaron; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Christina; her siblings, Cindy (Brian) Rich of Harrison, Karen (William) Allen of East Lansing, Glenn (Stella) Syers Jr. of Hickory North Carolina, Russell (Renee) Kloepfer of Okemos, Doug Kloepfer of Jackson, and Jessica Kloepfer of Lansing; and her father-in-law James (Marti) Kloepfer of Williamston; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbie is preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Ila Mae (Ogden) Syers, mother-in-law Dolores (Eiber) Kloepfer, son-in-law Michael Henninger, grandson Michael (Mikie) Henninger, nephew Brandon Syers, and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 21 at the Evergreen Baptist Church, Kalkaska, from 12-2pm. The funeral service will begin at 2pm and there will be a dinner to follow. Pastor Bill Kuiper will be officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the family, payable to Jeff Kloepfer c/o 106 S.
