Marle Theodore “Ted” Bowen, 74, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012 at White River Medical Facility in Batesville, AR.

Ted was born on July 6, 1937 in Spencer, MI, the son of the late Marle and Eugenia Bowen. He graduated from Holland High School in 1955 and was a veteran serving our country in the US Army. On October 18, 1958 Ted married Marva Rice. They resided in Holland until Ted retired from Holland Hitch and moved to Kalkaska in 1978. Marva passed away on December 22, 1986.

Ted later married Ida Baggs on October 7, 1989. They were members of the Lions Club. Ida passed away on February 23, 2005. Ted moved to Horseshoe Bend, AR in 2005, where he enjoyed the warmer weather and made great new friends. Ted loved going to auctions. He also had a love for conversation and could often be found at the local coffee shop.

Ted is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Terrence) Van Ochten of Rapid City, granddaughters, Danielle (Craig) Null of Fort Myers, FL, Samantha (Jordan) Willis of South Boardman and Michaela Pahl of Rapid City; great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Chandler; his siblings, Connie (James) Smith of Walker, Cherry VanDine of Apison, TN, Jan (Dave) Payne of Grand Haven, Mike (Lanette) Bowen of Hudsonville; and sister-in-law, Joyce (Gary) Bowen.

Preceding Ted in death were his father, Marle Bowen; his mother, Eugenia Perkins; his step-father, Clarence Perkins; and a brother, Gary Bowen.

The funeral service will be on Sunday, June 3rd at 3:00 pm at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, June 4th at 10:00 am.
