Doris “Jeanne” Smith, age 67 of Woodville, TX, formerly of Kalkaska, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville, TX. She was born on December 28, 1944 to Charles Orville Walter Hook and Margaret Bernice Haneline Hook in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Jeanne was a former longtime resident of Kalkaska and had lived in Woodville for the past 19 years. She loved birds, flowers, her angel collection, and her yard. Jeanne’s favorite channel was the UVC. She was well loved and regarded by her many friends.

Jeanne is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Smith of Woodville, TX; her son Robert Monnier, Jr. of Traverse City; her daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Holstine of Mancelona, Jodi Miller of Kalkaska, and Tonya Watson of Woodville, TX; her brothers, Wesley Hook of Woodville, TX and Dennis Hook of Burton; her sisters, Marjorie Taylor of Micanopy, FL, Ellen (Edwin) Martin of Fort Wayne, IN, Charlene (Tim) Curtin of Osceola, IN, and Ruth (Darrell) Jones of New Haven, IN; and 15 grandchildren.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Margaret; her step-mother, Mary Jane; her brother, Jon Hook; and her sister, Mary Jane.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 2 – 4 p.m. & 6 – 8 p.m. at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Doss of the Lighthouse of Hope Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be William Campbell, Jr., Brandon Miller, Kyle Holstine, Bob Monnier, Sean Monnier, and Ed Martin, Jr.
